The Early Years students enjoyed their first annual sports day this past Wednesday, on the 19th of February, organized in the school ground. Presented as our very own ‘Mini-Olympics’ this day was equal parts competitive and adorable! It was an absolute treat watching these little ones display some of the finest exhibitions of athletic intent, confidence and teamwork!
Wearing their house colors with pride, and armed with that unmatched child-like energy, these tiny Olympians brought the whole field to life, and the loud chants from their parents in the audience all but ensured a day like no other! Several impressive sub-events took place including Nutty Bolt Dash, Dress-up Dash, Speedy Little Feet Sprint, Match the Color, and of course Happy Moves, to name a few.
One of the highlights of the day was the Javelin throw event and the sheer passion with which our little ones competed was enough to remind us that Pakistani gold medalist Arshad Nadeem truly has inspired many. We were not done there, and to make things just a bit more fun, the parents and EY Teachers were then called onto the field to compete in a Tug of War. Spoilers: the teachers secured the win! Parents continued to participate in other categories as well but perhaps the most wholesome of them all was when we saw EY students race to see who would reach their parents first on the other side!
During the closing ceremony, our Head of School – Mr. Taimur Bandey bestowed medals upon the position holders before declaring the games closed after an amazing day. Until next year!
