From November 1st to 4th, Trinity School Lahore hosted its very first Trinity School Debating Championship 2024 (TSDC), welcoming almost 40 teams from schools across Punjab. This inaugural event provided an exciting platform for students to step up, speak out, and debate some of today’s most pressing issues. It was a weekend filled with spirited exchanges, thought-provoking discussions, and plenty of memorable moments as young voices took center stage.
The championship began with four preliminary rounds, where debaters passionately tackled diverse topics, captivating both judges and the audience with sharp insights and eloquent rebuttals. The debates led to an unforgettable final match between two all-girls teams: SICAS DHA and ISL Pine Avenue. In a nail-biting finish, SICAS DHA emerged as the champion, while ISL Pine Avenue proudly claimed the Runner-Up trophy.
Celebrating individual accomplishments, Umar Danish from TCS Ravi earned the title of Best Outrounds Speaker for his exceptional performance in the final stages. Meanwhile, Muhammad Yacob from SICAS took home the Best Inrounds Speaker award, recognizing his outstanding contributions during the preliminary rounds.
The Trinity School Debating Championship 2024 was more than a competition; it was a powerful reminder of the passion and talent in our young generation and Trinity’s commitment to nurturing skills in public speaking, critical thinking, and intellectual discourse.
